CCIM
|
A CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment
Member) is a recognized expert in the
commercial and investment real estate
industry. This elite corps of CCIMs includes
brokers, leasing professionals, investment
counselors, asset managers, appraisers,
corporate real estate executives, property
managers, developers, institutional investors,
commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers,
and other allied professionals. A CCIM is part of a global commercial real estate network with members across North America and more than 30 countries. This professional network has enabled CCIM members to close thousands of transactions annually, representing more than $200 billion in value. As a result, the experts who possess the CCIM designation are an invaluable resource for commercial real estate owners, investors, and users. CCIMs have completed a designation curriculum that covers essential CCIM skill sets including ethics, interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis for commercial investment real estate. CCIMs have completed a portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience. Finally, they have demonstrated their proficiency in the CCIM skill sets by successfully completing a comprehensive examination. Only then is a designation candidate awarded the coveted CCIM pin, joining the ranks of highly skilled commercial and investment real estate experts. Over 15,000 commercial real estate professionals have earned the designation. Currently, 5,500 professionals are pursuing their CCIM designation. |

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®
was founded as the National Association
of Real Estate Exchanges on May 12, 1908
at the YMCA Auditorium in Chicago, IL.
With 120 founding members, 19 Boards,
and one State Association, the National
Association of Real Estate Exchanges'
objective was "to unite the real
estate men of America for the purpose
of effectively exerting a combined influence
upon matters affecting real estate interests." In 1949 and 1950 respectively, the Patent and Trademark Office registrations for the term REALTOR® and the REALTOR® emblem were approved. Dictionary publishers began to list the definition of "REALTOR" as a member of the National Association in 1967.In 1974, the name of the National Association of Real Estate Boards was changed to the National Association of REALTORS®. The Association became the largest
trade association in the United States
in the early 1970s, with over 400,000
members. Today, the National Association
of REALTORS® has over 1.2 million
members, 54 State Associations (including
Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands)
and more than 1,400 local Associations. |

The St Louis Association of REALTORS® is the largest local real estate association in the state of Missouri, one of the largest in the United States and the fifth oldest still in existence. Our membership is comprised of residential and commercial real estate professionals, appraisers and affiliates. Our members know the St Louis metropolitan area. They live and work throughout the St. Louis region. Our REALTOR® members specialize in residential real estate, commercial real estate, and appraising. Our affiliate members provide important ancillary services to residential and commercial real estate consumers. But our involvement in the community is not just focused on business. Many of our members are involved in their communities as volunteers, as well as,being in elected positions. The REALTOR® Housing Assistance Fund (RHAF) , a not-for-profit organization set up by the Association to help end homelessness in the St Louis area, is an example of the Associations commitment to St. Louis. Since our beginnings in 1877, our members have been serving the St. Louis community. IREM is an international membership of real estate managers who are dedicated to ethical business practices and maximizing the value of investment real estate. Founded in 1933, the Worldwide membership includes nearly 18,000 individual members and over 535 corporate members. There are 80 U.S. chapters, 13 international chapters, and several other partnerships around the globe .An affiliate of the National Association of realtors®, IREM is a trusted source for knowledge, advocacy and networking for the real estate community. The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) provides education and professional recognition for real estate managers and management organizations. |
| CLS | The Certified Lease Specialist (CLS) is a professional designation offered through the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). The need to recognize the leasing specialist as a professional in the shopping center industry and to set certain guidelines for the profession led to the establishment of the CLS certification program in 1994. To date, nearly 600 professionals have earned the CLS designation. |
